1 The goal

🛖 Reach the manyattaEach day your village is further away. Run through its gate before the pride catches you.

🐄 Save the herdStray cows (green ring, cowbell) are on the track. Run into one to send her home: +100, and +50 more when you reach the village.

2 Moving

Change lanesThree lanes. Steer around termite mounds and into cows and food.

Jump · slideJump logs and boulders, slide under thorn-branch gates. Slam down from a jump with slide.

💧 WaterholesSplashing through a pond slows you right down and the pride gains ground. Jump it or go around.

Running styles · viewsWarrior Run, Sprint, Long Stride or Watchful. Play from behind, side-on or from above (C).

3 The pride

🏹 Shoot behindArrows spin you round to hit the nearest lioness: she's stunned, pushed back and weakened. Mid-jump shots hit harder.

⚠ Lioness aheadSome circle round and charge from the front. Shoot her, flying-kick her when she's close, or change lane.

🍖 Deny them foodMeat you miss, and cows you leave behind, feed the lionesses: more energy and a burst of speed for them.

Starve them outEach lioness burns energy. When her bar empties she collapses (+300).

4 Staying strong

⚡ EnergyRunning, jumping and kicking cost energy. Below a quarter you slow down. Mango +8, ugali +22, meat +30.

Power-upsWater slows your energy drain, a feast gives 8 s of unlimited energy, shield beads absorb one crash, fire arrows hit three times as hard.

🦓 The wildZebras, elephants and rhinos stampede along the sides. They won't hit you, but enjoy the view.

ScoringDistance, beads, hits, cows saved and the home bonus. Best score, furthest day and most cows are saved.

The story

Naserian is a young Maasai warrior, a girl who can outrun any moran in her enkang. Sent across the Mara to trade, she is walking home with her bow when a starving pride of lionesses catches her scent.

The dry season has left them desperate, and they will fight her for every scrap of food on the trail. With her red shuka streaming in the wind, Naserian must run, shoot and outsmart them all the way to the gate of her manyatta, where the warriors are waiting.
